6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

From Refreshing Daily:
The fruit of anger comes from three primary seeds planted in our heart.

First, there is the seed of frustration. Martha shows her frustration in John 11:21 when she said to Jesus, “If thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.”

Secondly, there is the seed of humiliation. Jonah was angry with God because he had preached that Nineveh was going to be destroyed, but God repented and now Jonah feels humiliated (see Jonah 4:9).

The third seed is rejection. That was Cain’s problem. He felt rejected by God and that’s why he was angry.
